Yoga Therapeutics is the process by which a trained yoga therapist adapts a specific set of postures (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) for an individual based on his or her body, constitution and condition. Yoga brings mindfulness to exercise and works with the breath to create a balance of flexibility, strength and endurance in a gentle way. In addition, a regular yoga practice facilitates a sense of peace, clarity and emotional well being.
Research studies show that yoga is extremely effective in treating chronic lower back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Currently, in both the U.S. and India, yoga is emerging as a recognized heaing modality for many medical conditions including back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, depression, anxiety and infertility.
